General Manager - Human Resources

Sector: Industrial
Location: Melbourne

Our client is a leading supplier in the industrial sector, ranked number one globally. The business has over 5000 employees globally and operates in over 58 countries. Australia is one of the top 10 largest markets for the group and currently turns over $600 million with 500 employees nationally. Globally, our client embarked on a cultural change program to align the business for future growth and success. Our client had also acquired several businesses and, in 2019, made a sizable investment.

Issue

Our client commenced its cultural change journey which required significant investment in time and people over the both short and medium term. Their General Manager HR was identified as being a member of the organisation who was not ‘walking the talk’ and not demonstrating the aspirational leadership values set out by the group. The group needed a seasoned General Manager HR to replace the incumbent with limited to no handover.

Solution

EIM appointed an Interim Manager to make an important contribution to the engagement of key leaders, guide the operations in Australia on their 2025 culture journey and oversee the integration of another business to the Group. Our Interim Manager played a critical role supporting the Managing Director and the executive team in coordinating, leading and executing the key priorities for the business. In addition, the Interim Manager also focused on areas of training and development, culture development, employee welfare, performance management, employee surveys, recruiting systems, success planning, payroll and industrial relations.
