Interim Chief Executive Officer

Sector: Industrials
Location: Melbourne, VIC

Our client is a market leader in its industry and employs more than 1,000 people globally. It has a proud and long history of supplying both products and services to a broad range of customers in Australia and New Zealand, North and South America and Asia. After splitting from its parent company, our client has focused on managing costs, reducing expenditures, and recruiting an executive team to grow the business. With revenue clocking in at $700 million, the business was ready for its next phase of growth via strategic M&A activity coupled with organic growth in individual business lines.

Issue:

The incumbent cost-focused CEO could not align with the new Board’s direction and was exited. The Board contacted EIM for an Interim CEO to step in to manage the business through its reporting and audit period and start the cultural change to orientate the Senior Executive team from cost-cutting to one of growth.

Solution:

EIM appointed an Interim Executive experienced in customer-oriented businesses and skilled in M&A and team building. With strong people leadership skills and a low-key style, the Interim CEO brought a degree of confidence and calmness to the Senior Executive team and focused them on supporting and implementing the Board’s strategic growth plans.
