CASE STUDY CATEGORIES

Chief Executive Officer

Sector: Not for Profit - Health
Location: Melbourne, VIC

Our client is a not for profit organisation who report to one of the largest state offices of Victoria. They operate within the domestic violence and social justice industries and are constantly under scrutiny. Over the years, there had been significant unrest at board level with the incumbent CEO. There were cases of underperformance, employee dissatisfaction and unethical behaviour. The board had come to a decision they would exit their CEO with immediate effect, hence the need for EIM to support them at a time of crisis.

Issue

Due to the confidential nature of this appointment and the public face within the community, it was critical that EIM could deliver a solution to our client within 24 hours. It was particularly important that EIM could meet this timeframe so the group could exit their incumbent CEO and have an immediate replacement appointed and ready to front the media.

Solution

EIM reached out to ten (10) interim managers in the health and not for profit sector who were all known and trusted individuals to EIM. Upon reviewing a detailed response within a 24 hour period, EIM presented our interim manager to the department’s secretary and assistant to meet and appoint. This individual carried out an incredible six-month assignment for the client. In their time they reorganised the business, established and rebuilt credibility within the department and the community, returned the organisation back to a surplus and identified a need for the board to be reconfigured and appoint a new chairperson.
